About Ohana Kemp

I've been passionate about surfing and surfboards for over 45 years.  This passion is reflected in the quality and attention to detail shown in all my products.

Some history --

A native Californian, I started surfing at age 8.  A growing interest in surfboard "technology" led to my hanging out around established surf shops in Huntington Beach.  Soon, I was making and selling wooden fins (skeg's) to several shops in the coastal Orange County.  During this, I also honed my shaping and glassing skills, often "ghost" shaping/glassing for several local board builders whenever I needed some extra bucks.

Finally in 1989 I opened my own business...first in a shop with a partner...but finally out of my home by myself.  My business has grown steadily but will never grow to where my personal attention is compromised - NEVER!

I've surfed all over this wonderful Earth, always learning "on the go".  I am always thinking up and experimenting with new ideas.  You'll see the results in all Ohana Kemp products.
